Order without boarding every corner
Low areas gain a purpose
Shelves use roof space that is too restricted for comfortable walking.
Small boxes stay visible
Frequently used belongings no longer need to sit beneath larger items.
Spacing suits your items
We plan shelf depth and height around what you actually need to store.
Keep the floor clear and the boxes sorted
The lowest parts of a loft are often no good for walking, yet they can still hold carefully planned storage. Our loft shelving uses spaces around trusses and beneath sloping roof sections, leaving the main boarded floor clearer for movement. Shelves can keep smaller boxes, decorations and frequently used belongings in view instead of buried beneath a stack. During your Cardiff survey, we measure the available depth and assess roof timbers, insulation and the route needed to reach each level. We then plan spacing around the dimensions and suitable weight of the items you intend to store.

More storage from the same footprint
A compact boarded platform can become far more useful when shelving takes advantage of restricted areas beside it. We position each section so it doesn't obstruct safe access, squash insulation or cover services that need attention. Shelf depth matters too. Deep shelves may swallow small items, while shallow ones may not suit your boxes. We therefore ask what will go on them before settling the layout. Shelving can be fitted as part of a new raised floor or added to a broader Cardiff storage project, giving different belongings a proper place without covering every usable step of flooring.
Frequently asked questions
Can shelving be fixed around roof trusses?
Yes, where the surveyed structure and available space are suitable. We plan the shelves around roof timbers rather than cutting through important elements, and we keep access and insulation needs in mind.
How much weight can loft shelves hold?
That depends on the shelf design, support and structure. Tell us what you plan to store so we can recommend an appropriate layout. Heavy items shouldn't be placed on shelving that wasn't designed for them.
Is shelving useful with a small boarded platform?
Yes. It can make a compact floor much easier to organise by moving smaller belongings into low or narrow roof areas. This leaves more of the main platform clear for walking and larger boxes.
