Find the right box without a torch
A loft may have a good floor and ladder, but it still isn't practical if you can't see where you're stepping. Our loft lighting installation places useful light around the hatch, main storage footprint and darker roof areas. During the survey, we look at the boarding layout, roof timbers and the path you follow through the space. We also discuss where a switch will be easiest to reach when you enter. Thoughtful positioning reduces deep shadows behind trusses and makes labels and stored belongings easier to identify. Our qualified electrician completes the electrical work in your Cardiff loft.

Cables planned before the boards go down
Lighting works best when it is included in the wider loft plan rather than added wherever a cable happens to reach. We coordinate cable routes with insulation, joists and boarding so the installation remains protected and accessible. If you are also having a ladder fitted, we can position the first light and switch around the entry point. Larger storage projects may need coverage across more than one area, while a compact platform may only require focused illumination. We agree the layout first, then complete and check the electrical work as part of the scheduled Cardiff installation.
Frequently asked questions
Can lighting be added during a boarding project?
Yes. Coordinating both jobs lets us plan cable routes and light positions before the floor is completed. This can reduce avoidable alterations and place the lighting around the actual storage and walking areas.
Who completes the electrical work?
Our qualified electrician carries out the loft electrical installation. We coordinate that work with the access, insulation and boarding layout so cables and fittings are positioned safely within the overall project.
Where should the loft light switch go?
The switch should be easy to reach as you enter, without stretching into a dark space. We confirm the position after checking the hatch, ladder, surrounding structure and intended direction of travel.
