Better coverage without blocked airflow
Gaps are dealt with
We plan continuous coverage around accessible sections of the loft.
Services stay reachable
Relevant cables, pipes and access points remain considered in the layout.
Storage sits above
Raised boarding prevents boxes from pressing down the new insulation.
Keep more heat where you need it
Patchy, thin or compressed insulation gives heat an easier route out through the roof. We carry out loft insulation installation using Earthwool where it suits the property, with coverage and depth planned after a detailed survey. We inspect the existing material, gaps, ventilation routes and any services that need to remain accessible. Continuous coverage matters, but so does keeping airflow paths open. We therefore fit the insulation carefully around the loft rather than packing every visible gap. For added health and safety reassurance, we include a free asbestos survey before the relevant work begins in your Cardiff home.

Insulation and storage can work together
You don't need to choose between retaining insulation depth and gaining a practical storage floor. We can install a raised boarding system above the material so stored boxes don't flatten it. Before our visit, we ask you to clear access and identify belongings that need moving. We protect relevant services, keep ventilation routes clear and explain which areas should remain unobstructed afterwards. If old insulation is damaged or unsuitable, we can discuss removal as a separate first stage. Once work in your Cardiff loft is complete, we check the fitted area and provide guidance on keeping it effective.
Frequently asked questions
Do you remove old insulation before fitting new material?
We can, but removal is a separate service and isn't always required. We assess the age, condition, coverage and any signs of contamination or damage before explaining whether the existing insulation can remain.
Why must ventilation routes stay clear?
Loft ventilation helps moisture escape. Blocking these paths can increase condensation risks, so we plan insulation around the intended airflow rather than pushing material tightly into every edge of the roof space.
Can you insulate beneath an existing boarded floor?
We need to inspect how the floor is supported and whether there is enough safe space for the required material. If boards compress the insulation, we may recommend lifting or replacing the floor with a suitable raised system.
